Tomorrow marks the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide when 8372 men and boys were massacred. Today, the Dáil marked this with a minutes silence, and welcomed many members of our Bosnian community to Leinster House 🇧🇦 🇮🇪

At the #srebrenica30 commemoration in Dublin, survivor Hajrudin Mesić tells how his four brothers were killed by Bosnian Serb forces between 1992-95. He was the only one of his siblings to survive the Srebrenica massacre in July 1995, via a 17-day trek to safety. @rtenews

He said it exemplifies the hatred in the world and reinforces the need to stand up to it. He said Ireland co-sponsored last year’s UN motion that Srebrenica is commemorated on July 11 each year. He says Ireland is working hard to end to what he calls the horror in Gaza.
