Finally there is news that not everyone is excited by the idea of the play offs...Rovers manager Gerry Francis has called for the play offs to be scrapped!! As you can see in this last scan, thought the lads could put together a great fanzine, their stapling skills were abysmal.

There is sarcastic comment about Bert Millichip, a man who deserved a lot of criticism. Tbf on this occasion I have some sympathy with him, just weeks after Hillsborough widespread crowd trouble & violence at games demonstrates just how many pillocks followed football in the 80s

Remarkably there are still 2 "Rugby for soft lads" teams in Bristol and there have been 5 in the city over the last 35 years. There are 140 teams in the UK!! What is wrong with these people?

Remember American Football teams were all over the shop and it was going to be THE big sport in the UK? Never going to happen but the long defunct Bristol Pirates appear here.

There is news of a video going on sale at the club for the bargain price of £12.95. The description of said video screams "One for the purists"

Inside the cover we get an "apology" for two thirds of a page being empty....hmmm. There is also news of another fanzine who weren't as careful with their words and so were banned from the "club souvenir shop" at Old Trafford, how quaint.

Today's #FanzineoftheDay is Gashead issue 15 in the name of Bristol Rovers. May 1989 saw 3rd division play off fever in one half of the city though by now they were playing in Bath after Eastville was sold. Eastville had flower beds behind each goal and is now the site of an Ikea

One of 5 Scunthorpe fanzines we've traced, if you know details of the likes of Iron Filings, Iron-Bru, Son of a Ref or the brilliantly named Fe please get in touch. Scunthorpe fanzines... Do we not entertain you?

On the back cover there is a rather harsh comment about Ray Clemence, the 2nd most famous player to move from Scunny to Liverpool. He left 23 years ago lads, let it go. Though he was no Buffon, he wasn't an Ogrizovic either...Scunthorpe's obvious enmity to Liverpool continues.

There is a brilliant report on a match that might not have taken place in 1933 between Scunthorpe and Lindsey FC and a European select XI. A look at the lineups should help you decide.

There is a nice little tricks of the trade "interview" with 2 Scunthorpe stalwarts and a funny little football speak translator. Despite the grim outlook humour is always present in a fanzine.

There's news of a "Town Hall" meeting about the state of the club's finances. Obviously chairman nor manager show but worse, for the first 15 minutes there is a beer drought. Our heroes manage to sell 1 fanzine & 35 years ago, talk about supporter representation on the board.

Today's #FanzineoftheDay is issue 6 of Scunthorpe's 'Get A Grip, Ref'. As with many fanzines it was difficult to work out when this was from but news of a 6-1 defeat at Maidstone settled it to Autumn 1990 and as you can imagine sets the tone for the mood in the fanzine.

Fantastic fanzine, congratulations on reaching such an amazing landmark. Only the 14th fanzine that we know of to have made it. (Out of 1,759 and counting! Brilliant creativity shown once again with this edition
