food banks and community fridges meet different needs and work together. fridges are open 24/7 and meet immediate needs, plus they allow homecooked food. give money to your food bank. bring food to your community fridge. i didn't need a scented candle. instead someone is eating

so i went to the grocery store and bought more food, and rerouted back to the fridge. everything i brought in round one was gone, so my bestie and i filled it up for round two. the uncanny experience of walking past fancy homegoods stores and bakeries mere blocks away got to me
