My dad played MK:DA and I watched his playthrough. Saw Sub-Zeros fatal and was scared for days. When Quan-Chi was about to do a fatality I went out of the room and heard my dad laugh his ass off behind closed doors. 5 Years later I saw Quan Chi's fatality and understood why.

With that out of the way DONKEY KONG BANANZA IS EXACTLY MY TYPE OF SHIT. WE GOING MONKEY MODE ALL DAY AND I LOVE IT. IM IN LAYERS COLLECTING SHIT. 100% #BIGPACE MINIMUM. THEY BROUGHT IN POWERWASH SIMULATOR BUT YOU BREAK THINGS AND THE MOVEMENT IS SICKKK.

Which is why I simply finished the game by watching a playthrough. It was beautiful but left a bitter taste. I'm thankful tho. I can't remember being conflicted with a medium like this. I'm glad this game exists even if I didn't enjoy dwelling in it's painting like others did.

Now lucky for me the games pacing was amazing. up until Act 3. As cool as the concept of Act 3 is in a vacuum, after Act 1 and 2 it feels very out of place even if it's consistent with the message of the game. Didn't hate it but effectively "killed" my motivation.

Whenever I came back to play it, it felt just as fun as I remembered but it as a cruel compromise the gameplay became more and more stale even with the addition of new abilities. Everything "new" and exciting came through Story and it's presentation overall which felt weird.
