Fun fact: the choppy animation was a design choice. Miles is animated at 12FPS while the other Spiders are 24FPS and Miles doesn’t catch up to them until his leap of faith. What you consider a criticism is actually a genius move by the film makers.

Tom’s Peter falling into such a dark place without it feeling forced or unnecessary or badly written is something I would have never expected. It honestly reminds me of Daredevil when Matt falls into a similar darkness in Season 3 but pulls himself out of it.

It’s not that they HAVE to die but take something like Max at the end of S4, that shit was heartbreaking but they had to backtrack on it by making her dead but not really but also kinda is. There’s no stakes for the main characters when they’re basically invincible.
