overwhelmed by the support i've received these past few hours but also disheartened that this seems to have happened to every kind of creative 🥲 hopefully, my experience compels the industry to step up + freelancers to stop taking this sitting down!.

To our knowledge, Polygon’s editorial staff have consistently followed the key tenets of our Principles for Working with Freelancers: transparent & fair rates, clear contracts, & paying freelancers in a timely manner.
We condemn Vox Media’s May Day decision to lay off a majority of @Polygon staff w/o warning as part of the sale to known media-brand-destroyer Valnet. We stand in solidarity with the staff who were laid off, and with @vox_union in their ongoing contract negotiations.
