We are appalled by what we have witnessed this week: the racism, vandalism and attacks against Muslim communities and ethnic minorities. At LJMU, this behaviour never has and never will be accepted. We’ve contacted our students and staff and will continue to offer support.

I agree with taxing if it goes to improve public education for everyone, but childcare in the UK is so expensive that choosing a private school sometimes comes out of necessity rather than elitism or ideology, and that should be addressed too.

I get the sarcasm behind this, and there'll be an element of truth, but another side is how difficult & expensive it is as full-time working parents with no extended family support to manage out-of-school hours, and private schools provide that.
