The thresholds are so arbitrary too. 10 for defenders but 12 for midfielders who also get recoveries. FPL is meant to be a simple game. Also Anderson can rack up 22 DEFCONs in 2 games and get zero points but theoretically another midfielder could manage 12 yet get 2 points?

DEFCONs are such a farce. Opta interns deciding on hundreds of actions and whether or not they classify as a clearance, block, interception, tackle, recovery. Introducing more subjectivity to the game is objectively bad. Not a huge fan of the changes made to FPL this season.

That makes 4 times so far I've had a player hit 11 DEFCONs and be 1 short of the threshold Anderson x2 Bruno Paqueta
