The FPD would like to thank Fairfield U for their partnership & extensive preparation in coordinating today’s SantaCon event. We are pleased to announce that there were no citations, no arrests &, no significant incidents associated with the Fairfield U SantaCon event.

FPD joined the family and loved ones of retired Ofc Tim Kelly as he was laid to rest. Ofc Kelly served Fairfield for 20 years after he completed 2 tours in Vietnam in the US Marine Corps. Rest easy, Officer Kelly. After a lifetime of service, we have the watch.

On 12/6/25, residents should expect limited parking access in the beach area. Fairfield University will provide transportation for event ticket holders, and the Jennings Beach lot will be closed to the public. This will apply to all side streets south of Old Post Road.

As part of our public safety plan for 12/6/25, FPD will have a strong presence in the beach and downtown areas. Observed violations of law, including trespassing, open containers, alcohol on the beach, disorderly conduct, and pedestrian safety violations, will be addressed.

FPD visited Sturges Ridge this week to speak with residents about current scams, how to stay safe, and ways to avoid becoming victims. We appreciate the chance to connect with our seniors and share important information. #FairfieldPolice #ScamPrevention #KeepFairfieldSafe

The Pequot Runners Thanksgiving Day Road Race is TOMORROW 11/27/25. The run starts at 8:15am in the area of Pequot Ave and Center St & will end at approximately 10:30 pm on Center St. Expect traffic delays in the area until 10am.

Officers Sara Gunter & Walter Burke were honored for saving a life at Fairfield Beach. Ofc. Gunter pulled the man to shore & began CPR, and Ofc. Burke brought an AED & assisted until EMS arrived. Their quick actions made all the difference. #KeepFairfieldSafe #LifeSavingAward
