Today, we honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. & his fearless dedication to the civil rights movement. Dr. King's pursuit of freedom & equal opportunity ensured a brighter, more prosperous future for generations to come. #MLKDay

As the legacy of #BeBest comes to a close at the @WhiteHouse, we must continue to give a voice to our Nation's children & the issues that impact their lives. It's the values & spirit of the American people that inspired Be Best & it's those values that will carry on its mission.

Over the past 3 years @SecondLady & I have been delighted to join the @RedCross in building comfort kits for our troops deployed overseas during the holiday season. Although we did not pack the kits in person this year, we were happy to carry on this long-standing tradition.

To our service members: "thank you for the sacrifices that you and your families make for our country."

"During this holiday season, and through the year, I encourage everyone to think about ways you can safely give back to your community."
