This Labor Day, @FLAPIllinois celebrates the strength of low-wage workers – especially our clients, whose labor ensures that every family has food on their tables. FLAP honors staff and Community Navigators, who every day provide legal assistance, education, and advocacy.

It was a wonderful afternoon connecting with RACF, Executive Director Emily Anaya, and local nonprofits committed to building a stronger Rochelle community. 💚

Celebrating 20 years of community philanthropy, @FLAPIllinois was honored to attend Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF)'s Golf Play Day! . Manager of Advocacy & Programs, Claudia Oliveros proudly shared FLAP’s collaboration with RACF to support low-wage workers in Rochelle.

Bilingual Outreach and Intake Coordinator, Juana Cordova, was proud to represent the team at the event providing KYR information and support. Looking back, FLAP deeply appreciates the opportunity to empower families for school success and beyond as a community partner. 💪

Supporting families in Waukegan, IL at @HACES’ Soaring Into School event ✨. At the start of August, @FLAPIllinois was proud to stand alongside 31 community organizations in providing essential resources to help low-wage workers and their families begin the school year strong.

As a root2fruit alum, FLAP was honored to recognize the incredible impact of Ann Balusek and the Mammel Foundation for their valuable support of Evanston organizations throughout the program’s history. 💚

Centered on the theme of “Tradition and Ritual”, this unique experience brings community members together to explore healing, connection, and growth. FLAP is proud to see our staff take part in opportunities that foster self-advocacy and expand access to holistic care.

The FLAP team will aim to increase bilingual community education, offer targeted “Know Your Rights” workshops, connect youth to local workforce opportunities, and expand referral pathways to mental health, housing, and social services.

A few weeks ago, @FLAPIllinois held a one-day wellness retreat at Navy Pier. From taking in views from the open-air rooftop, sharing a delicious meal, and dancing to a live DJ aboard the Odyssey Lake Michigan, to ending the day with a ride on the Centennial Wheel.
