FHF recently rescued a trove of rare material of the one of the greatest lyricists of this country, Sahir Ludhianvi (1921 - 1980), famed for unforgettable lyrics of landmark films like Guru Dutt's “Pyaasa” “Phir Subah Hogi” “Gumraah” and “Kabhie Kabhie” from a scrap dealer.
So exciting as we get all set to finally screen a film on 35 mm!! FHF conservators check and prepare the 35 mm vintage print of Kamal Amrohi’s “Mahal” for the special one-time only screening on Wednesday July 26th at 6.30 p.m. at Regal Cinema.

It is a sad day for FHF today. Eminent artist Lalitha Lajmi passed away today. Having a family rooted in cinema, she was very supportive of our work in preserving our film heritage and attended many of our events despite her advanced age.
The excitement is building up on the eve of the launch of our Bachchan Back to the Beginning Festival—the hoardings are up, finishing touches are being put on the exhibition and the films are ready to go. Can’t wait to celebrate an icon over the next four days in cinemas!
