I’ve heard of an explanation for this- throwing a bunch of (pale) colors at the lens won’t result in a colorful scene- just a scene with a lack of focus that’s too complicated for your eyes. But if they instead chose 2-4 primary colors (or one color theme) it’d look very colorful
