today in Seattle. Beer hit .560 with 8 HR and 41 RBI for the Longhorns in 2015. He's batting .287 with 16 HR this season for the Triple-A Reno Aces.

Lambert's girls soccer team will face West Forsyth in the Class 7A state championship game after posting its 14th shutout of the season in a 1-0 win against Walton.
FINAL: Forsyth Central 3, Lambert 2. Will Robbins pitched a complete-game one-hitter with 13 K's, Jessie Duong smashed a two-run homer, and Stevie Lyons provided the game-winning RBI double in the sixth inning.
Denmark pummeled North Springs 63-0 Friday night, setting a school record for points scored in a game. The Danes (2-0) have outscored their opponents this season 104-0.
North Forsyth goes on the road and knocks off defending Class 7A state champion Mountain View to reach the Elite 8. Abby Castleberry came up with a huge walkoff hit in the bottom of the eighth inning.
That's a clean sweep for West Forsyth. The Wolverines' boys and girls track and field teams sprint to victory at the Forsyth County Championships. West senior Isaac Osifo set a new state mark in the high jump with an unbelievable 6-11.
FINAL: Newton 80, West Forsyth 59.
Rams outscored West by 14 in the second half to pull away. Wolverines end their season in the Class 7A Sweet 16 against the best team I've seen all year.
What a game. A 1-yard TD run by Kyle Durham on fourth-and-goal gives South Forsyth a 14-10 lead, then Jax Weaver picks off Drew Southern to win the game.

pitcher Garrett Major inherited a 4-0 hole in the first inning Wednesday, but Major slammed the door on Mauldin and Greenwood rallied to beat the Mavs 8-5.
Courtney Sauer had a day to remember Thursday, first committing to play Division I softball at Lipscomb, then driving four hours back to Lambert High School and pitching a complete-game shutout against Denmark.

INBOX: Matt Hollis is named the first athletic director for East Forsyth High School, which will open for the 2021-22 school year. Hollis was the head football coach at Forsyth Central from 2002-04 and has stops at South Forsyth and Denmark.
FINAL: Lambert 4, South Forsyth 1. Hannah Cornetto goes 3-for-3 with an RBI, Courtney Sauer gets the win in the circle, and the Longhorns complete the sweep.
