I expected after this article to see @J_Fishback to validate he was at least arguably a seven-year resident of Florida. Instead, he called this a paid hit piece (it's not) and posted his (expired) Florida driver's license with a Davie address (he lives in Madison).

I appreciate the efforts by the Florida legislature to hold Hope Florida accountable. Millions in tax dollars for poor kids have no business funding political ads. If any money was misspent, then it should be paid back by the entities responsible, not the taxpayers.

@GovRonDeSantis @splcenter Here is Chair Redondo's full statement at the beginning of the meeting. He says members will rely on 2020 Census data, use the House’s map-drawing software, and must disclose anyone who assists them, keeping detailed records to ensure transparency.

@GovRonDeSantis Boy that was a quick one. Redistricting committee wraps after 25 minutes by my watch. Chair and other Republican lawmakers left without talking to press. John Webber with the FL @splcenter said it was "too short, and not so sweet..."

@GovRonDeSantis It's basically standing room in here-- save for a few seats reserved for lawmakers. Overflow is in the hallway. Outside, opponents holding large signs in the plaza reading: "BE BRAVE DEFEND DEMOCRACY"

@amnestyusa “Alligator Alcatraz” at the moment lives in legal limbo. That’s after Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, in September, put a hold on a lower-court order that had required the state and federal government to shut down and dismantle the site within 60 days.

@amnestyusa Some migrants reported being punished inside a two-by-two-foot cage known as “the box,” where they were shackled to floor restraints for hours — treatment Amnesty classifies as torture. Governor’s team insists this is a fabrication and that no “box” exists.

@amnestyusa The 61-page report is based off interviews with detainees and findings from a trip to southern Florida in Sep. 2025. It alleges those at AA are “being held in inhuman and unsanitary conditions…” Overflowing toilets, fecal matter seeping into sleeping area, limited showers,

Full report is here. @amnestyusa says it found that Florida’s aggressive immigration enforcement, expanded through 287(g) agreements and bolstered by Trump administration policies, has produced a system where arbitrary detention is the norm, not the exception.

FWIW, my sources in the administration dismiss online chatter about a potential shakeup or @SusieWiles departure. While they stress she won't stay a day longer than welcome, universally, sources don't believe she is going anywhere soon.
