🚨A BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR GILLESPIE COUNTY🚨 Despite the rain, the County is still under a burn ban. No burning is permitted. Moisture is not expected to remain for long and dried out fuels will rapidly dry due to drier air behind the front and windy conditions tomorrow.

2/13 6P: We will be watching for thunderstorms tomorrow! We are thankful for the rain, but may have a small chance for stronger storms with small hail and gusty winds. More updates tomorrow!
An upper level disturbance & Pacific front will bring chances of showers & storms this evening through Saturday evening. There is a marginal risk of strong to the severe storms for Val Verde County this evening & most of South Central Texas Saturday afternoon & evening.

Chances for storms and isolated severe weather increase across South-Central Texas to end the week. Friday evening, a few isolated storms are possible over the southern Edwards Plateau. A line of storms is then forecast to sweep across the area Saturday afternoon/evening. #txwx

2/13 5P: Prescribed burns continue at Camp Bullis today. The wind is carrying some of the smoke into Gillespie County from the south. You may smell light smoke or see a light haze in the area this evening.

2/9 2:20P: 30 acres with 25% containment. Fire progress has slowed and crews continue to work. No additional threatened homes or lost structures. Continue to avoid the area if possible and provide room for crews to work to extinguish the fire. Maintain awareness if in the area.

2/19 1:30P: Crews continue to work the brushfire. Avoid the area if possible. Crews are working to ensure people are not in the direct path of any fire. If on the outside of the fire, wait until responders say it is safe to return to property.

2/9 1:30P UPDATE: The Barons Creek Fire is estimated to be around 30 acres. 1 structure lost with several homes in the area not currently threatened.

2/9 12:30P: A brushfire has been reported near 408 Hartmann Ranch Way. Residents near Hartmann Ranch Way, Barons Creek, and Old Mason Road stay aware and heed responder directions. Responders are working to protect structures and also notify residents in the area of the fire.

Multiple Gillespie County FDs responded yesterday to assist Blanco County near the Blanco/Gillespie County line. We are thankful for our first responders! ❤️🚒 Be mindful of fire conditions this week. TFS has issued a moderate fire danger risk for our county today and tomorrow.

2/8 6P UPDATE: Gillespie County resources are in the process of being released from the fire. Blanco County continues to be the lead on the fire and will continue any monitoring or mop up operations. This is the final update from FBGCEM.
2/8 2P: Multiple Gillespie County fire resources are in the process of working a 20 acre brushfire near the Gillespie County/Blanco Line around 5000 Block of Althaus Davis Road. Additional updates will be provided. If you live in the area, stay aware.

2/8 5:25P UPDATE: The fire was estimated around 70 - 80 acres via helicopter 30 min ago. Airdrops have concluded and some Gillespie County fire resources are being cleared from the scene after completing operations. Additional mop up and hotspot treatment is expected to continue.
