We successfully campaigned to have the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act repealed. We believe fans should be afforded exactly the same rights as everyone else
Joined October 2011
On the 5th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament vote to repeal the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act, Fans Against Criminalisation will officially be closing down. We would like to thank those who supported our campaign and helped deliver a historic victory for football fans.

Just came across this again. I had forgotten quite what a significant piece of work the film Guilty is. Also a really clear record of a successful campaign by working class football fans who, against the odds, skelped the government of the day.

Fans are uniting to stand up for their rights and to oppose abuse of Section 60. Statement released by fan groups of most clubs in the SPFL & Championship, as well as some from the lower leagues. Supporters are the heart of the game, and won’t accept being treated like criminals.

In the meantime, you may wish to contact your MSP to draw their attention to the videos and photographs circulating online and shared by our account also.

FAC has today written to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Angela Constance MSP regarding the dangerous and potentially lethal restraint tactics used on a young fan following Motherwell's game against Celtic on Sunday 25/2/24. We will share any response here.

We are aware of the consultation coming from the Senior Traffic Commissioner re 'voluntary guidelines' which will affect buses going to football matches in Scotland. We are ready to coordinate a response to defend fans rights if necessary.

We will keep this page open but dormant, just in case the government repeats the mistake of attacking the rights of football fans, in which case we will be happy to mobilise once more. We will not be monitoring the account though and are unlikely to respond to messages in future.

Whilst we have not engaged in active campaigning of late, we had continued to offer support and guidance to football fans who needed it. However due to a lessened need for this service, and the time constraints of our volunteers, we have taken the decision to wind down.

“The offensive behaviour and threatening communications act 2012 is repealed” the immortal words spoken 5 years ago today. @FACKilltheBill

It is really very surprising to hear this after his positive impact on relationships between fans and the police in Scotland - something we benefit from to this day... @AmandaJJacks
Everyone in Scotland must be astonished to learn about these news stories about the former chief constable of Police Scotland. If only there had been some sort of sign about his suitability for big jobs when he definitely voluntarily resigned with no external pressure up here.

We are working with @hamlettfilms on a film about football fans and the law. Do you have any good footage on your phone showing any of the rallies or fans at matches?
