Had they sold 1 or 2 dmen at this year’s deadline, putting the finishing touches on a new d core would have been easier to accomplish this offseason. The failures of the 2026 deadline probably costed them a serious chance at competing next season.

This d core needs a complete makeover and I highly doubt that can be accomplished in a single offseason. Totally in favour of hiring a new GM+coach, having a relatively quiet offseason and selling again at next years deadline.

The only positive that can come out of this deadline is Treliving and Berube being fired as soon as the season ends
