Willing to bet my take will be a little controversial. But here are my thoughts on @NDBA MVP Beamsville is just so much better than every other team in our league (and every other team below AAA). They could probably lose their top 2-3 guys and still win everything.

So since I can’t vote for an Expo, with all things mentioned previously considered, my MVP vote goes: 1) Matt Skubel 2) Chico Anderi 3) Dylan Dempsey Guess I’ve also made my thoughts known on Pitcher of the Year, and kinda Manager or the Year as well

Skubel also played up the middle defense and had a .378 OBP. So I ask again, who are the Cobras with Matt Skubel? Who carries his team more than this guy? How can he not be the league’s MVP?

I’ve saved my Matt Skubel argument for last, intentionally. And the million dollar question is: What are the Cobras without this guy? He should easily win pitcher of the year. Elite innings total, elite ratios. Faced Beamsville & us for most his innings pitched…

Merriton is packed full of good players, but because they struggled to get their guys out, I just can’t put anyone from their team into the MVP conversation with the other elites of the league. They’re still a terrific when it comes together.

Fort Erie’s Zach Fernandez is in the same criteria boat as Chico & Bags, and is still an easy top 3 player in the league. Not much more I need to say about the guy. Immense value.

Chico Anderi, of Welland is an easy choice. Super elite OBP at the top of Welland’s order means a ton of runs scored, and a ton of defensive value. A huge huge part of that team. Similar to Bags and us.

Can’t vote for us, but I definitely want to voice my thoughts. I had a really tough choice here, but ultimately went with @Evan_Bags17. Big offensive numbers as usual, and played C/3B/SS. He’s the face of our team and would be lost without him. That’s valuable. Finalist

Then I look at each team. Beamsville already discussed. Thorold had all their best guys come out all year, and it shows on the stats page, but Dempsey is a clear standout & was a huge factor at 3B in our playoff matchup. Dempsey is a finalist for me.

MVP isnt an award for the most talented player. To be MVP in NDBA, I consider a couple things off the top. 1) How many games did you play? Bc if you’re a good player who makes every game, that’s VALUABLE in this league 2) What might the player’s team look like if he wasn’t on it?

Steve Erickson & the Niagara Falls Expos have exercised their mutual option for 2026. Erickson’s 2025 ended before it began after a fall in an exhibition game resulted in shoulder surgery. In 2024, Erickson was 1 of only 12 hitters in NDBA to have on OPS over 1.000, minimum 55 AB

8 Expos were alive in ‘93 when #BlueJays won their last World Series, but only 5 were old enough to remember it. Yes we’re old, but we’re also sexy What say you, @NDBASenior teams?
