If you haven't heard. the Dueling Dinosaurs experience is now open @NaturalSciences. It was an eight-year journey to get here filled with amazing moments and fueled by the hearts and souls of so many. Let's look back.

More of our small ankylosaur turning up. We now have pectoral, forelimb, pelvic, foot, and verts which is fantastic. The only problem is… the bone layer is under 10 meters of overburden 😩 #dinodig25

The storms have passed and we have two new ceratopsian #dinosaur sites to explore, a large individual and a baby #dinodig25. @NCStateBioSci BIO 325 students hard at work jacketing up some pelvic bones.

Lots of incredible fossilized wood in the Menefee. Including stumps buried by river mud and fossilized in place and sparkling crystallized wood. It’s hard not to get distracted. #dinodig25

and one team heading to the remote Gobi Basin of Mongolia to probe unexplored areas close to the southern border. Our Mongolia crew will share updates until September 12th before reluctantly returning to civilization. You can chat with the Montana crew on August 16th.

On August 4th, we end with the great divide. One team heading to the world-famous, Hell Creek Formation to collect sediment for our public science project #CretaceousCreatures and scope out some cool discoveries from last season. .

After that, we’re off to the Straight Cliffs Formation, a virtual black box in the dinosaurian fossil record, to dig up a new species of ankylosaur and then to the Kaiparowits Formation, home of the Dinosaur Renaissance to excavate the skeleton of an ornithomimid.

On June 19th, we’ll set up in the Cedar Mountain Formation for a month, but you’ll have to wait until the live stream on June 28th and July 11th to find out what we’re doing there.

We’re there to dig up an ankylosaur, search for the skull of a beautiful little ceratopsian, and find tyrannosaurs (of course). Follow us there between May 24th - June 18th and join us for a live-stream event @naturalsciences on May 31st and June 13th for updates.

We tee off hunting #dinosaurs in the wastelands of the Menefee Formation, one of the most beautiful and feisty areas we visit. Working in the Menefee in May is akin to waking the tempest (picture 40 mph sandstorms laden with black widows).
