Thank you for all you are doing to repair the world, to amplify God’s love, and to embody peacemaking. May this be an invitation and reminder that you are not alone. (12/12).

It’s important to bear witness and keep wrestling with what peacemaking looks like for each of us. Maybe it is precisely when we are feeling powerless that it matters most to keep showing up, however we are able. (11/12).

We also want to bless and encourage all the ways that you are finding a path forward right now: contacting your legislators, protesting, posting on social media, donating your time or money to folks on the ground, praying and holding vigil, learning, and more. (10/12).

Acknowledging these longings led us to create an event within our community to help bear witness, hold solidarity, and listen well. We’ll share details soon, so keep an eye out for that. (9/12).

But we long for peace, for hope, for love. We need each other for our collective flourishing, now and always. (8/12).

We’re struggling to figure out what faithfulness, solidarity, and love look like here, but we want to try to discern together, and we know we will get it wrong at times. (7/12).

The desecration of the Imago Dei in all of humanity is wrong. Many of you might be feeling the same way and wondering, “How do I respond?” (6/12).

We lament the effects of terror on our Palestinian and Jewish beloveds in Gaza, Israel, the West Bank, and around the world. The violence of this moment is evil. (5/12).

We see and feel the weight of our shared grief at the death and destruction; the immense suffering and trauma; the rising antisemitism, anti-Arab sentiment, and Islamophobia; and the grievous crimes against humanity. We’ve felt angry, powerless, frustrated, and afraid. (4/12).

It’s important for us to explicitly name that, because we recognize that silence in the face of violence is an exercise of privilege that we must confess and address. (3/12).

We haven’t spoken up because of the complexities of navigating profound grief in what we are witnessing—and, honestly, we’ve feared getting it wrong. (2/12).
