Selling an African landscape over 110 acres in central Florida is genuinely one of the most impressive things wdi has ever accomplished. Not only did this take over a decade of planning, it involved over 6 trips to Africa just to research and collect plant species.

One of my favorite things about the safari is the landscape. Just remember that NONE of what you see was there before it opened. The land was a swamp! Everything you see was carefully curated to sell the illusion of traveling to Africa.

Why do so many selfie sticks make it into the parks? Genuinely so confusing how security lets them in when they almost always hinder some operation.

Wow this evening at DAK… A monster thunderstorm with some insane lightning and thunder. Rain stops and we have extended evening hours! Safari open late and the village doesn’t close until late as well. A spectacular firey pink sunset to end the day. Nothing better.

Yes!!! Lions are loving the rain right now. They were gone essentially the entire day cause of heat then as soon as this amazing thunderstorm came in the Lions returned. Crazy safaris in this weather!.

There truly is nothing like DAK. I hope you all learned something from one of my posts today. I have so much passion for this park. The storytelling and detail are just at an amazing level. It’s no wonder I’m here all the time.

Gorilla falls is an amazing level of immersion and storytelling. For people who like the safari, you have to like gorilla falls. A slower paced walking version of the reserve. Take your time and immerse yourself in the African wildlife and natural surroundings.

Another part of Animal Kingdom that is just amazing, both paths around the Tree of life! So peaceful and atmospheric. Incredible perspectives of different parts of DAK!

A great view of the upper part of the fort. Tamu means sweet. In Swahili when you say something twice you are emphasizing it. So Tamu Tamu means very sweet. Dole whips are served here.

Tamu Tamu courtyard holds a big chunk of leftover fort. It’s a beautiful area. Also has some original village posters in it, kind of rare, most posters have been replaced now.

Talking about the opposite corner of folk, the harambe market! A great view of the Wildlife Express train. Also talking about how Harambe was a military fort when the town was colonized by the Portuguese. Some super interesting and very deep parts of the story!

One of my favorite parts of Harambe is the corner by FOLK. The port of Harambe is such a cool idea. Old Discovery River boats would come into the land the way it was designed. Take off your theme park goggles and try and imagine it the way it was meant to be seen.
