Disheartened to read about declining number of scientists w/ #AMR expertise in the @AMRAlliance report. Public-private partnerships, such as the Paratek-BARDA partnership, are a way to support new research for innovative #antimicrobials.

More #AMR funding is always good news however it's not enough to fix the industry. Gov’t must support a marketplace that incentivizes innovation & requires new regulatory, policy & reimbursement pathways to create viable access models for new #antibiotics.

Check out @dmosbergen's @WSJ article on the business of #antibiotics. I'm proud of Paratek's success in a challenging marketplace. However, if we don't modernize today's reimbursement system, the innovation curve for antibiotics will continue to crater.
