@EvanFriss Just finished reading 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 and loved its wit and insight. Here's a photo of the book with Slovenia's still-wintry Julian Alps in the background--and a bookstore cat in the nearby historic town of Radovljica:

Here, @EvanFriss, like booksellers before him, sold me on the fascinating history of bookselling, from humble beginnings to book wagons and sidewalk hawkers to indies and chains, ups and downs, the avant garde and radical. Bookselling is a microcosm of America and a lovely story.

So happy with last night's event with @EvanFriss! It’s always so fun to take a trip down memory lane and remember the bookstores that helped to pave the way for bookshops as we know them now. Here's to many more years of bookstore culture!
