On 13 & 14/11, at Smrekonicë/Smrekovnica open prison premises, the #EULEX Correctional Unit provided a 2-day training on investigative interview techniques to 20 Kosovo Correctional Service's middle management staff to enhance the quality of internal investigations at KCS.

Deepened cooperation with @EUKosovo, @UNICEFKosovo, EU Member States & int.repr. to advance coordinated efforts in 🇽🇰 to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse. #EULEX stands ready to support stronger prevention, protection, investigation & prosecution mechanisms.

3/3 I also had the unique opportunity to meet with several detainees and discuss their daily lives and reintegration processes. I was impressed by their commitment to engaging with educators and trainers to secure themselves a better role in society and a brighter future.

2/3 I reasserted EULEX’s support to KCS’s leadership through the steadfast monitoring, mentoring & advising work of the Mission Correctional Unit in addressing the most pressing issues, such as the need to improve facility conditions.

1/3 Substantive visit to Dubrava Correctional Centre. I discussed with Kosovo Correctional Service DG Ismail Dibrani & Centre Director Sami Gashi the efforts made by KCS in providing educational and rehabilitation services to the inmates.

Delighted to host the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Désirée Bonis exchanging notes on recent developments in 🇽🇰 & the Mission's role. I reaffirmed my appreciation for the crucial 🇳🇱 contribution to #EULEX through the secondment of highly qualified officers.
