Dear Gamers, please buy this game before you know anything about it from a company that has fucked you in the ass before.
Single player games has never been in a state of dying or death. Those who parrot this shit are stupid, blind or both.
I get the view that big western companies possibly view single-player games as not profitable. Blind, stupid, or both.
But it's the fact that you're using an EA game to "prove them wrong" on top of believing that single player games are dead, yourself ("Sekiro is an exception")
@Etherwinter
As much as you've mentioned several high-profile and high-quality single player games, I don't think that's exactly the point. All of these games were published by companies who already see the value of such games. EA on the other hand, still doesn't.
@Etherwinter
Depends what is considered 'dead' or 'dying' . A lot of ppl are hyperbolic when a game only sold so much or only has a playerbase of 50k or less.
@Etherwinter
Single player games that sold poorly over a time did not do so because they were single player
It was because they were shit, and people correctly identified them as shit
@Etherwinter
he lost me at "step up" when talking bout an EA game. Especially when the "reveal" showed nothing but cutscenes. "all in game assets" just lets me know the game won't look like the trailer.
@Etherwinter
I will say Respawn is the only studio under the EA umbrella that I put any stock in, but with that said this game is going to have to convince me it's earned my shekels.

Yeah because publishers have never promised us this and then not hold onto it afterwards.
Especially not electronic arts...
