The conclusion that no one wants non-USD stablecoins is lazy. And it's wrong. READ THIS
The conclusion that no one wants non-USD stablecoins is lazy. And it's wrong. It dismisses the need for significant participation from global economies. Using only current blockchain activity as evidence to support this conclusion is like staring at a single pixel and insisting

First: do people want non-USD stablecoins? The answer is obviously yes, there's demand. Brazilians want BRL stablecoins. Nigerians want NGN. Is that demand large enough to justify building infrastructure for it? Do these stablecoins solve problems USD stablecoins don't?

@etherfusedon @NickSzabo4 Fair pushback. The distinction I’m making isn’t about diversification being bad — it’s about assets vs settlement. Portfolios (stocks, reserves) should diversify. Money is selected for final settlement under stress. In every crisis, liquidity and collateral gravity collapse

Foundational reading if you actually care about blockchain as a disruptive technology, FX markets, or are unaware of the magic @etherfuse is pulling off
Today’s stablecoin ecosystem flipped off most economies by treating USD stablecoins as the final form of onchain money, and pushing the rest of the world aside. @EtherfuseDave published a paper explaining how yield-bearing local currency primitives change the equation.👇📄

@EtherfuseDave @NickSzabo4 Thanks for the thoughtful response — I appreciate the engagement and agree we’re both trying to push the space forward. Where I think we fundamentally differ is not on yield, tokenization, or usefulness — it’s on what qualifies as money vs. what qualifies as a financial asset.
