In human teeth, stressful periods can actually cause irreversible changes in the enamel. We don't know if the same is true in snails, but it's still fascinating to see the similarities. Learn more about our work here:

Do you know what snail shells & teeth have in common? 🐌🦷 They both grow in distinct layers! Snail shells add spiral layers as they age, much like how our teeth show incremental layers of enamel... https://t.co/lkUKIWSFoU

As the Science Tooth Fairy, I love seeing teeth featured in fall decorations. Here are two of my favorites, featured by local dental offices 🦷🎃 What were your favorite Halloween / Fall sights recently?

One important part of The Dunn Lab culture is to spend time together outside the lab! It was so refreshing to be able to host a recent lab lunch for us to reconnect & share ideas in a different setting - always great for creativity ✨

I love learning about all the things kids do with their baby teeth! In Spain their tooth fairy is a mouse! Casa Museo del Ratón Pérez in Madrid is a hidden gem that shares the story of this folkloric character. 🦷 🐁

I fear the public will never truly realize the immense damage done to our scientific research system and its consequences. A loss of ~$4.5 billion in frozen or cancelled grants with at least 148 impacted clinical trials = 138,000 patients due to be enrolled or already enrolled.
