Every year, my teaching partner @2hal and I make this anchor chart with our classes. This year, she upped her game by adding @justinbieber to her chart and explained “if JB is in our classroom, you MUST interrupt my reading group bc I have to go tell Mrs. Anger”! ❤️❤️ #Belieber

This morning we were lucky enough to be part of a Pools to Schools presentation with #paralympic athlete Matthew Cabraja. We learned about swimming with a visual impairment & perseverance. Such amazing ?s and connections from our Ss as we learn about differences and #inclusion

Grade 1 pumpkin patch came to TPS today! My favourite Halloween activity 🎃 Each student “picked” a pumpkin and investigations filled our day! How many cubes tall, how many links around, how many lines, will it sink or float! So much excitement!

Our 1st #inquiry was sparked today. Last week a squirrel visited our feeder & Ss were pumped. Today a student made an obstacle course w/ loose parts. Insert @CreatuveMissP idea to watch Squirrel Ninja Warrior Course & here we go…. Up next materials/structures focus & then design

This year has been such a learning curve for me on how to accommodate my program for vision needs. Ss have been so interested in braille that Mrs. Goodwin had everyone create a braille mystery word. Each day during Mindful Minutes, we try & figure out the word. #inclusion

Wonder window #inquiry is my fav part of our year. We started w/ caterpillars & introduced bird feeder last week. We’ve already had a few visitors! @CreativeMissP has made our inquiry #inclusive w/ brailled qr code bird sounds. Excited for where they want to take this!

Fall #inquiry in full swing. Last few wks, Ss gathered new info on fall changes w/ observations & videos/books. Today we did obs/infer/wonder w/ 🎃. Next step is to have Ss decide what the 2nd choice of inquiry will be. Student agency and choice is key. @TVInnovates

Full disclosure, the 1st 3 wks have been really tough. My teaching partner & I are on a totally new path & even though this is my 12th year in, I forget how tough Sept is. At PD last week we wrote a letter to our 1st year selves, trying that tonight for next year’s self 😩😴😬

Today we welcomed a caterpillar/butterfly expert into our classroom to help answer the wonders that have come up in our tent caterpillar inquiry..... this baby was born right in front of our eyes! Magical! #inquiry
Last one, we promise! This process is still so amazing to us. The fact that 2 butterflies eclosed right in front of our eyes today was mind blowing! #inquiry
