Our response to commentators for our LoT BBS paper is finally done! https://t.co/UiVBVN1QYs. We are super lucky and appreciative to have had such insightful, thoughtful commentators. Before highlighting a few of the commentaries I want to clarify: we didn't pick who was accepted!

My friends' game came out today and it looks amazing. @bfod is an artist and philosopher, just one that happens to be using video games as his medium at the moment. See, e.g., https://t.co/LLFKaVjXy9

Baby Steps, the game I've been working on for 6 years with @gabecuzzillo and @maxiboch, is out on PC and PS5! We've put a feature-length film's worth of stupid cutscenes in this thing, and I hope you like them. But if not, you can skip them.... OR CAN YOU???? RTs appreciated 🙏

Was that a military jet over BK? Anyone know what that long slow sonic boom was?

I can't stop reading the Grok reply page. It's going schizo and can't stop talking about white genocide in South Africa. https://t.co/Y7IQonCkiG

Dude didn’t want to publicize it or anything. Just wanted to do something ridiculously nice on his birthday. What a mensch. Dude made my day too

Seen many soup kitchen lunches but nothing ever like this. It’s going to be the most glorious lunch today for 450 food insecure New Yorkers.

For his birthday my man on the left in the green cooked all the chicken and rice you see here for 450 people @CHIPSbrooklyn. Got his friends to help too

The incomparable @phschlenker_ac kicked off the new CUNY Cognitive Science season today and it was amazing. Room (and zoom) was packed with smart cool people. Best way to start the year. Come join us! https://t.co/cZnB1BUcd2

Nobody knows anything yet. Don't share anything from someone who says they do. Log off. You'll find out when there's something to find out.

Great time to remember that misinformation is not a problem!

Of course it contains criticisms/counterarguments. But I also get a chance to reflect on some broader questions like where the field of perception is going, what it takes to do top flight work in it, and why in god's name anyone bothers to write a book in cognitive science at all

I wrote a review of @De_dicto's seminal book on the perception/cognition border for Mind. Tl;dr: you should read the book. But also consider reading the review. Hard to imagine I'll ever have a harder or more meaningful review to write

How gullible are people? If you’ve been following Twitter recently (or um…The New Yorker?) you might have seen that lots of people think: not so much! In a forthcoming paper ( https://t.co/QjzfWnZdo7),
@Ericmandelbaum and I argue for the opposite view:

A phone in a basket looks very different from a knife in a cup. Would you ever confuse them? In a new paper @ Open Mind, @chazfirestone @michaelfbonner Barbara Landau and I show that you would — with implications for the relation between language & vision. https://t.co/oZKgWIF4Te

The SPP is lucky to be filled with such interesting researchers. I saw all the nominations and all were deserving of this honor--it was a really stellar field. People are doing inspiring work! It makes the celebration of Tobi all that more impressive
