Parents, do you want to know what teachers really want for Christmas? They would LOVE an email or note of gratitude acknowledging all the things they do. Bonus if you cc the superintendent and principal, because they could use to hear some positive news, too.

My initial thought when I saw this sign in the staff bathroom was…who’s washing their feet in the sink!?

As an Amazon influencer, Amazon suggested items I should share for Prime Day based on what people have purchased from me in the past. So of course, hazmat suits! Well, I do teach first grade and my followers are also primary teachers, so maybe we could use these.

It has been 5 years since the Covid Lockdown. This was how I taught my students! I think I blocked it out. It was incredibly challenging and stressful. . #covidlockdown

Me: It’s the weekend I can sleep late and relax. My Teacher Brain: Rise and shine at the exact same time you usually do and nope you can’t go back to sleep. Let’s think about work and all the things you have to do.

Fact: Every teacher has a drawer full of shirts for school spirit days. In that drawer they have one camo shirt, a superhero shirt, one tie-dye shirt, and multiple teacher themed sayings shirts. . . #everyteacher #teachertruth

I had two weeks off from teaching and I have no desire to return to work. I am thoroughly enjoying this hide under blankets, read books, use the bathroom, and eat snacks whenever I want lifestyle. Plus, I am pretty sure none of my real pants fit anymore.

Me: Can you name Santa’s reindeer? Students: Sam…George! One Little Girl: Are you serious?! (Along with eye roll). She then proceeds to rattle off their names better than I ever could.

November is such a stressful month for teachers…report cards are due, there are parent-teacher conferences, it’s cold out and nobody wants to put on or zip up their dang jacket! You go home exhausted, overwhelmed, overextended, and go to bed early because 5pm is the new 10 pm.

This summer we started watching 90s movies with my stepsons. Umm, 90s PG and PG 13 movies were filled with innuendos and scenes that must have blown over my head as a kid. The Nutty Professor …hello grandma! Mrs, Doubtfire taking to Stu about Miranda?! 😳 #90smovies

We had an earthquake yesterday. I have a student who is really into natural disaster books. This student’s reaction: “Wow, we had a natural disaster and I survived!”

First graders are great! Once, I had a student walk into the class wearing a full, head to toe, panda suit. The class stopped, looked at him & said “You’re wearing a panda costume!” He replied “Yes, I am.” The kids were like “OK” and moved on like it was no big deal. #1stgrade
