Today Mayor Kelly and other local elected officials announced that they’re rebuilding Wilcox Blvd Bridge using $25 million dollars of federal funds. According to Fire Chief Hyman first responders will now be able drastically to cut down their response times to East Chattanooga.

In the report obtained from THP, it says after Graham struck one of the civilian vehicles, the crash ejected him 50 ft before he landed on the road. The chase began after a deputy saw Graham wasn't wearing a seat belt and failed to comply after the deputy tried to pull him over.

New details from the pursuit that took place in Hamilton County Saturday. During the chase, the suspect struck two unrelated vehicles injuring one person. The HCSO says at the time of the pursuit the suspect Marcus Graham was wearing an ankle monitor for probation/house arrest.

A TN law took effect that increases access to naloxone a drug that prevents overdoses from being fatal. Health care practitioners can now prescribe it to those at risk for overdose including family, friends and county entities. One man says this law could've helped him years ago.

This afternoon CPD and SWAT responded to 1201 Boynton Dr where an office personnel was held hostage. The suspect and victim were both women. CPD says negotiators were able to talk the suspect into coming out. The victim is ok and the suspect is now in custody and facing charges.

Thacker is facing one count of wire fraud and violated 18 U.S. codes according the federal judge. At the moment the judge says he’s facing a maximum of 20 years, the minimum has not yet been decided.

Rhea County Executive George Thacker appeared in federal court today for wire charges after lining his pockets with CARES Act loans. The executive plead guilty and is scheduled on 09/22/22 for sentencing. His attorney declined to comment after due to the nature of the case.

Dennis Clark with The Equity Alliance says policies for use of force should change. He tells me if you get pulled over you shouldn't lose your life. "Have to start using common sense and realizing that how law enforcement deals with the community everybody should go home safe."

Data from the National Urban League on the state of Black America was released last week. The area with the most inequality was social justice at 57%. This means 43% of Black Americans are experiencing inequality when it comes to issues like equality before the law and more.
