Our Year 10 Health and social care groups would like to ask for support in our 'Vision appeal'. We are looking for donations of glasses and sunglasses which are no longer needed that we can collect and donate to support individuals at home and abroad.

Last week The Goethe Institut in London a 'German Week' Miss Dymond celebrated this event by running a "Kafka" project with Year 9's. The pupils were then taken through the plot of “The Castle” in more detail in German language. The pupils participated lovely in the project.

Health and Social Care students raised over £65 this month by selling laser engraved personalised gifts. The money raised will go to buying supplies for a local homeless charity. Thanks to all those who supported us.

We spent a lovely morning at @dogstrustshrewsbury meeting some wonderful pooches and finding out about the work the rehoming centre does Our charity prefects handed over the hamper of donations collected in the academy which will be shared out amongst all the dogs on Xmas day

Our final event of the year and one of our absolute favourites! We hosted our Christmas Afternoon Tea this week for elderly members of the community! A huge thank you to all staff and students involved!

We are beyond delighted that one of our fabulous students has been accepted into Bodens College of Performing Arts in London! 🎭 You will have seen Louie most recently in the starring role of Shrek! Well done Louie!

Congratulations to Ethan and Paige! Our students took part in the SMART Education ‘Capture the Year’ competition & we are delighted that Ethan’s & Paige’s images have been selected to go through to the next round! Ethan was also the winner of our House Christmas Card Competition!

Our charity prefects have been at it again, this time promoting Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children! We also held our annual Christmas Dinner for all staff and students – big thanks to Mr Trafford and Miss Jones for helping on service!

We recently held a crafting session for some of our students and their families; they have supported us with making gifts and decorations for our upcoming Christmas Afternoon Tea. A wonderful time was had by all!

Last Thursday, our Year 11 Further Maths students had the exciting opportunity to attend an inspirational event at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham. The day was packed with engaging talks from renowned speakers Aoife Hunt, Ben Sparks and Hugh Hunt!

Gardening club is open to all year groups and takes place every Tuesday after school until 4pm. Recently, students have been helping to develop the sensory garden as well as their own gardening skills. You will need a change of clothes (anything you don’t mind getting dirty!)

This half-term, some of our Year 10 students have had the fantastic opportunity to participate in The Brilliant Club programme; an initiative designed to challenge and inspire young minds through academic enrichment.
