#TEQSA23 joining online this year. The benefit of this is that I can have a belly laugh moment while @LisaBolton_QILT is presenting! Very idiosyncratic ways Australian universities input their equity data. I can đź’Ż attest to that!

Heard an argument that selective schools are good for equity, so made the below figure using the 2022 ICSEA from ACARA for NSW secondary schools (excl K-12 schools). Fully selective schools are some of the most advantaged schools in the system.

The Disability Support Program gets a top-up in this year's budget but the National Disability Coordination Officer program was abolished (saving the same amount). It was one of the few programs working across HE and VET. Reform would have been the better path. Poor trade-off.

The budget maintains funding for the Indigenous, Regional and Low SES Attainment Fund (IRLSAF) but the targets for Indigenous and low SES student participation remain below actual participation (as per the latest published data). We're aiming for a decrease?!
