managed to get a leaderboard world record in my speedrun game. not something I was expecting to be able to do when I started speedrunning myself, but I'm very happy with this even though the run itself has room for improvement still with my routing first execution second style.

The most underrated thing about this direct was Nintendo coming up with "Other" Directs for some of these other games. Allows for more diverse content to be shown, and gives a place for the hardcore AC or Smash fans to actually get excited and watch. Do this more Nintendo.

The Majora's Mask speedrunning community had a vote and made the decision to make "No SRM" 100% the default 100% category. This is A HUGE WIN for the community and a step in the right direction to help drive competition and interest for new players. Faster is not always better

it's one thing to declare a game "dead" cos you're trying to show how cool and ahead of the curve you are or whatever but... by what metric is a game that pulls hundreds of teams in nintendo tournaments with sub-minute online matchmaking "dead" that's just delusional lmao

If community backlash and nothing else is what’s making you realize what’s okay and what’s not, maybe take a step back and re-evaluate some things. Make decisions you can stand for when people oppose it, instead of half-assing an apology or deleting tweets arbitrarily.
