I could not agree with this more. Anyone who believes otherwise is likely to have a livelihood that depends on the complexity of today's web dev.
unpopular opinion: web dev was better when stuff was simpler. even PHP, that blunt bludgeon that anyone could learn to wield (bluntly, at least), is now overcomplicated and overfancy.
