While this article focuses on NYC, there are currently 21 counties across NY that have waitlists. Children and families and the providers who educate and care for them deserve more stability than this.

We can't have a serious conversation about affordability without tackling the cost of child care. The cost for families, the low pay for the child care workforce, the waitlists and child care deserts. It can be solved with universal child care.
