Thankfully, the part is still robust enough to bring the PS2 back to its original working order. I do feel like I need to get this part 3D-scanned for the future.

I recently learned that the part is known as an "elevation arm".Until then, I found it next-to-impossible to find a replacement part. New arms are available for later revisions, but as my PS2 is the launch SCPH-10000 model, finding the necessary part proved difficult. until now

For many years, my Japanese PS2 has had a faulty eject mechanism thanks to this simple part being broken. Thanks to this, the only way I can load games is to take off the top shell and disc drive housing and simply place the disc on the spindle.

When I get a new game, it normally sits in the backlog until I'm ready to play it. I got Rayman 3 weeks ago and already made a start on it. I specifically hunted the PAL version simply because Rayman's victory animation syncs up with the "ding" on his teeth 😁🌟

Tekken 3 was my very first import. I didn't have a chipped PS1 at the time, so had to make do with the disc-swap trick. You can imagine my excitement when I finally got it working 😁. #Tekken #PlayStation #retrogaming
