3/3: I’ll be presenting this Saturday on “The Place of a Child on Platforms” panel organized by @TomDivon @CatalinaGoanta , and @TaylorAnnabell. I’ll be discussing our digital platform developed with and for parent influencers to raise awareness on influencer sharenting!.

2/3: It made me reflect on how much I LOVE my postdoc day-to-day, but also what makes it stressful: the expectations + figuring out my place as an interdisciplinary researcher. Sometimes it feels like I'll never gather sufficient expertise, which can be paralyzing.

1/3: First @AoIR_org conference and my first solo conference ever—without my usual colleagues! Both exciting and a bit intimidating. Started with the early career researchers workshop today. 🧵👇🏻.

Plot twist: After yesterday’s tweet about not getting my postdoctoral fellowship, I received an email a few hours later saying I was selected from the waiting list. Absolutely thrilled!!! More about my project soon! Still processing this incredible news.😱 #academicrollercoaster.

It feels dishonest to convey this message to young scholars I supervise while only being open about achievements myself. Nevertheless, I am ready for the future now and to overcome any future brain freezes 🥶. Please get in touch if you have the golden tip for this 😅👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 (8/8).

While I am still disappointed and initially felt more comfortable dealing with this on my own, I share this because I believe it is important to acknowledge that we often solely highlight achievements, while rejections form a significant part of academia too (!!!). (7/8).

I will resubmit the proposal next year and am determined to overcome this insecurity and irrational stress. Irrational, because I am SO passionate about this project, know its value and my capabability of conducting it—which is all that I had to convey during the interview. (6/8).

In all honesty, getting the message that I just fell outside the selected candidates sucked big time, and I felt that this experience is as important to share with fellow academics as sharing the achievements I am proud of. (5/8).

Although I advanced to the interview round, imposter syndrome completely struck me as soon as I entered the room with 20 (?) experts whose job was to interrogate me. My mind seemed to freeze, and I couldn't respond in the same way as I would have in any other setting. (4/8).

I have spent the past years developing an idea for a senior postdoctoral funding application. For a year, my mind and work were entirely dedicated to this, as it could guarantee another three years of working within an awesome team on a project I LOVE. (3/8).

Over the past few years, my research has focused on how idealized social media messages impact self-esteem. As such, it doesn't feel right to only share the highlights on this platform, so here I go… (2/8).
