A little bit shocked right now! Honoured to be named one of top activists to watch out for in 2022 for health and disability. It is a great reaffirmation to know that the work I do matters. Thank you to the @Independent_ie

Hello! Here's an article I wrote for @thejournal_ie. Most people in Ireland pay the full price of seeing a GP (as well as taxes, and private health insurance). In this regard, we are an outlier in Europe. 'Universal GP care for Ireland is long overdue'

Dr Domhnall McGlacken-Byrne reacts to this month’s editorial in The Lancet Regional Health, which called Ireland ‘an outlier in primary healthcare’.

Thanks @RCSI_Equality for raising the profile of non-visible disabilities on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It was a real honour to chair this hybrid event with two incredible activists @EmmLarkin and Silvia Plaza.

1 year ago, I had 3 heart surgeries in the Mater Hospital. Today I got the all clear from my cardiologist. I often get labelled “inspirational, brave, strong etc” but I don’t see it that way at all. I’m just a person who just so happens to have illness taking it one step at a time

Today I was tutted at when parking in a disabled space. I had all these tubes hidden under my clothes, so I looked like a young, healthy person. But in reality, I still have a disability, despite choosing to hide my tubes. Friendly reminder that most disabilities are invisible!

So happy to be going home from hospital just in time for New Years 🎆🎉🎇✨ I will probably need more surgery in 2022 which is okay, chronic health is a journey not a destination ❤️

Unfortunately, I had been feeling unwell over Christmas and was taken by ambulance into RESUS last night, where we discovered my heart procedure was actually unsuccessful, back to square one all over again💔 but a new game plan is imminent💪🏻 Massive Kudos to @DubFireBrigade 🚒

Great to hear @EmmLarkin from @invisibledisab2 on @SeanMoncrieff this #IDPWD2021. An inspiring voice, shedding light on invisible disabilities and our shared societal responsibility to accommodate everyone and uphold their rights.
