📸 Nickeline from Wanlockhead Nickeline is a rare secondary arsenide mineral which has been found in the dumps at New Glencrieff Mine. Nickeline is rarely used as a Ni ore as the arsenic content makes smelting difficult. #MineralMonday #ScottishGeology

📸 Chalcopyrite from Wanlockhead Chalcopyrite is a common copper ore, though it doesn't occur in workable quantities in Scotland. At Wanlockhead it's likely the first mineral to form from the ore-bearing fluid which made the lead deposits there. #MineralMonday #ScottishGeology
