If they bring up stimulus checks remind them that there’s only been a couple for a lil amount over a year of a pandemic which people can’t survive on. As a result a lot of my American friends are starting to get better paid offers/perks for hospitality jobs so it’s working!

ALSO on subject of my last tweet if anyone tries to make you feel bad about not returning to poorly paid jobs where you’re treated like poo and blames it on furlough, point out the exact same is happening in America on an even larger scale and furlough doesn’t exist there

Like why would I bust my ass for shitty hours and shitty pay whilst people profit off my hard work and labour? If you aren’t offering LLW or over and have your staff working 5 hour shifts 5 days a week and none the next then I believe this is why no one wants to work for you now

Whilst I’m ranting I’d also like to point out that the reason why people aren’t returning to jobs in hospitality/retail isn’t because we’re lazy or don’t want to work after the pandemic, it’s just that the break has made us realise we don’t want to be exploited anymore
