This reminds me of something I heard Carl Hart say on science advocacy- people’s thoughts and memory are inherently narrative which is why SciComm is often met with “But I know a person that…” Thus, effective science messaging needs situate findings in the context of real lives.

Absolutely heartbroken to know I live in a country that thinks my daughter is a second class citizen. That puts profits over people. That cares more about tax cuts than the climate crisis, education, or mental health. Deeply saddened. And while we may recover, I will not forget.

I am happy to report my eye twitch is back

This part of the process is wild. That’s why we wrote a grant to fund applications for your internship cohort this year. At least there isn’t the expectation of travel to the sites anymore. While very informative, it was like 5k when I did it.
