Always use topping when you are embroidering on knits. This will hold the thread up on top of the garment and keep it from sinking in. Make sure you hoop the topping in as you are hooping the garment. DO NOT FLOAT IT! It can get caught in the presser feet & make an awful mess!

Embroidery TIp: Make sure your design fits the size of your hoop. Do not try to embroider a small design in a large hoop. If you have a small design, use a small hoop. You do not want too much area left in the hoop.

Tips for Embroidering Stocking Caps •Use 2 layers of no show Backing & Topping on top. •Do not stretch caps when hooping it. •Remove all excess topping before steaming it. •Lightly remove topping to not stretch cap. •Add a layer of complex fill under the small lettering.
