Wandering through the galleries of Ely Museum, you’ll discover a rich history of the Fens, but deep in our stores are many more objects with a story to tell. This is the Cabinet of Curiosities, a temporary exhibition, where we are bringing some of these objects into the light.

Join us for this Tea and Talk to discover more about a few local lives and stories behind the actual medals you will also get to see and hold. Following the 30 minute talk there will be the chance to ask questions and chat with like-minded people.

There are only three more days to visit Ely Museum this year! However, that is still plenty of time to pop in and find those last minute gifts in our free to enter museum shop. We are open from 10.30am to 5pm on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th, and Saturday 21st December.

We've just had a visit from the fabulous Dr Annie Gray; historian, writer and broadcaster. There are now signed copies of her latest book, ‘The Bookshop, The Draper, The Candlestick Maker: A History of the High Street’ in the museum shop. The recent Book of the Week on Radio 4!

Did you know you can visit the Ely Museum shop any time? Free to enter and perfect for those special gifts for family and friends. From books to beautiful gifts, toys, jewellery and cards. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am-5pm and on Sunday from 12pm-5pm.

See our Back to Nature exhibition and our last talk of the year at the same time! The museum will be open half an hour before our talk, ‘Predators and Pollinators’, with Neil Mahon, for you to browse the ‘Back to Nature’ exhibition.

Neil Mahon, from the Centre for Landscape Regeneration at the University of Cambridge, will be with us in a few weeks, so book for our talk, ‘Predators and Pollinators’. The museum will be open 30 minutes before the talk to give you the opportunity to browse the collections.

It’s the last of our evening talks this Autumn. This November we welcome researcher, Neil Mahon who will be talking about predators and pollinators in the Fens.
