Whatever you think about history of Rhodesia, I think it's kind of odd that it isn't part of normal historical curriculum the way South Africa is You could just ignore the later failures just like we do with South Africa, but nobody knows a country named Rhodesia even existed
The Rhodesians turned what had been a virgin land stuck in the Stone Age into a modern country with roads and railroads, modern cities, hospitals, factories, mines, and--most famously--hugely successful farms and ranches that made it the Breadbasket of Africa Zimbabwe destroyed

"How fascinating it would be if some well-known picture could be reproduced on the screen in vivid colors and then brought to life--movement and gesture graphically developed in complete harmony with their static state in the picture..."

@ben_golub @arindube The useful and credible results in this literature report null results. And the rest fail for a number of reasons. I can tell you but they are. Test results fade out over long periods of time. Test results are not controlling for regression to the mean and proper pre-post test

@romanhelmetguy Byzantium had recently lost about half its land, including most of Asia Minor (Anatolia, the piece of what is now Turkey that is attached to the Asian mainland). This wasn't about outsourcing, but loss of resources before outsourcing became necessary for Byzantium to have a navy.

What could have been...
@ElonBachman @romanhelmetguy With the benefit of hindsight ofc that's what should have happened. Some random Norman dynasty would give us a much much better chance of the Hagia Sophia remaining a proper cathedral today

Tho this last one begs the question: why did they outsource in the first place? I think because without a 1082 treaty with Venice, Constantinople would have been taken by the Normans.

Maybe two instances of positive canthal tilt here, a few more neutral, and a clear majority negative tilt? What're the population frequencies?
Seven more members of a North Texas Antifa cell allegedly involved in a terrorist ambush shooting on an ICE facility have been federally indicted on charges that include providing material support for terrorism, using an explosive, rioting and multiple counts of attempted murder.

So the people who were convinced that Epstein ran a pedophilic intelligence operation now have 20,000 emails revealing just another sloppy-grammared society personage engaged in minor court intrigues...and somehow they view this as evidence for their theory?

@ElonBachman @MonitoringBias we have neurite density correlated with IQ polygenic score now btw https://t.co/XlbPkJBiF4
Neurite density but not myelination of specific fiber tracts links polygenic scores to general intelligence

And the *other* place you notice this pattern (non -choosy males) is most of the rest of nature. Selection for female beauty is actually the oddity to be explained.
