Solutioneering might just be my new favourite word. Complex problems require systems thinking and to be understood from multiple perspectives but the call of the simple solution is strong. Love this article from the ever brilliant @StevenShorrock.

Love this! Aligns two concepts I found central to how teams learn (or don’t) in my PhD work. Psychological safety and its relationship to the gap between work-as-imagined and work-as-done. @trainingVDS.

100% agree. Human Factors training is so often equated with improving individuals non technical skills. Whilst this is undoubtedly important it’s a dangerously narrow understanding of the benefits and opportunities HF can bring #vetmed #humanfactors.

Always worth saying that the people who need 'human factors' training the most are those in charge of staffing,ICT hard and software, rota design, guidelines writing, designing, choosing and buying equipment, designing new wards and hospitals, designing medication packaging etc.

A great article from @latimes. Don’t provide muffins, lunch-hour “resilience training” or a website link to a video on meditation as a way to compensate for failing to provide #GoodWorkplaces. #InvestingInPeople @BritishVets

FYI healthcare - Human Factors is NOT a synonym for non-technical skills. Human factors is a discipline looking at people, environment and technology and how they interact. This may include nontechnical skills, but to use the terms as equivalents is incorrect.

👇👇👇 this and this again! Moving away from ‘should have, could have, would have’ normative responses to human actions (esp when outcomes are not what we wished or intended) can be hard but vital for systemic learning and improvement.
