Hello! 👋🏻 And just like that, my parental leave is over and as of Tuesday this week I returned back to work as Head of Youth Practice for our services across the North at TCS! ☺️ I’ve received such a warm welcome from so many colleagues (in person and virtually)…

Yesterday was such a lovely afternoon seeing so many wonderful and talented people from across all our TCS teams! It was my last day in the office yesterday too before my parental leave started so it’s all starting to feel very real!.

Always a pleasure and a privilege to be invited to guest lecture MA Social Work students at @LJMU. I always come away from these lectures feeling excited about the students potential from their engagement in the session and this afternoon was no different!

Starting the week attending the #YCFutures2023 conference in Manchester with @ChildSocInclude. Excited to be in a room with so many others who care deeply and are so passionate about young carers!

The #YoungCarersChallenge was launched today at a roundtable event in Westminster organised by @CarersTrust & the @ChildrensComm, Dame Rachel de Souza attended by myself, education leaders and young carers about what can be done to better support young carers through school. 2/4

Today was spent out of the office with the wonderful national @ChildSocInclude team. We took the opportunity to reflect as a team on the rich variety of activity undertaken, highlighted key learning and considered how this informs our future young carers work! 1/2

It was a privilege to celebrate our amazing Sue Preston today as she retires from TCS after nearly 42 years! What a legacy she has left with us all & I’m in awe of what she has achieved, her stories & the impact she has had on those she has supported & worked with 🫶🏼☺️💫🌈💜
