There are a lot of takeaways from the IPCC. A big one we shouldn’t lose sight of: We have all the tools we need to decarbonize the economy rapidly right now, it’s politics and fossil fuel interests fucking us over

Thank you to the awesome students in my section of Northeastern's Energy Democracy and Climate Resilience class for sharing smart analysis and hopeful stories like this that keep me from national news-induced rage-and-despair spiraling

The planned systems in Chelsea and Chinatown can detach from the main power grid, giving the communities their own islands of energy while relieving pressure on the wider regional system.

This evening I was out with a friend who leapt into action to provide care for a stranger who collapsed. He was unresponsive, chest compressions brought him back, we stayed until EMTs arrived. Life is fragile, and I am full of love for my friend.

Great analysis from @holcaggiano: addressing the administrative burden of energy efficiency incentives is hugely important for equitable implementation & there's no substitute for community leadership/organizing to shift behavior.

The modern information war is a war for *attention*. The victories come not in winning debates, but in successfully choosing & framing the debates in the first place. If you determine the battlefield & define the terms, you've already won.

Folks, here's your daily reminder The harm of climate change is caused by **cumulative** greenhouse gases. So: a very slow path to zero by 2050 does much more absolute harm than a very fast one. This isn't widely understood: the fossil industry knows and exploits this.

A huge document leak reveals nations lobbying to change a key climate report ahead of COP26, which when you hear who some of the players are (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Australia, et al), you will not be surprised about their comments (more CCS, coal can stay)
