Just left 🇮🇳, a country with a growing role in efforts to end world hunger. As a @WFP partner, they bring cutting-edge expertise, diplomatic influence, and scale. India's journey from former food aid recipient to surplus producer & emerging humanitarian voice is an inspiration.

Also very proud of @WFP involvement in optimizing India's public food distribution system, saving USD$30m to date. We now want to bring these initiatives to our own global programmes. If they work in India — massive country, many diverse contexts — they can work globally, too.

Strengthening 🇮🇳India and @WFP Partnership, the two signed a Letter of Intent under which WFP will procure fortified rice from @FCI_India. This will ensure the predictability of supply for WFP operations globally.
